THE OFFICIAL SELECTION OF THE 75TH VENICE FILM FESTIVAL (29 AUGUST – 8 SEPTEMBER)

Venice 75: from Lady Gaga to Ryan Gosling, here are the stars awaited at the Lido
It will be held at the 75th Venice Film Festival, on 31st August (out of competition), the world premiere of “A Star is Born”, a film written and directed by Bradley Cooper, with Lady Gaga. This is the awaited directorial debut of the four-time Academy Award nominee Cooper (From 29 August to 8 September in Venice there will be the opportunity to see Ryan Gosling for the opening film “First Man” and Emma Stone for “The Favorite”. Announces a pair of thrills then that of Dakota Johnson and Tilda Swinton for “Suspiria” by Luca Guadagnino.A high dose of stars also “Vox Lux” by Brady Corbet with Natalie Portman, Jude Law and Stacy Martin. James Franco, Liam Neeson and Tom Waits immerse themselves in the western universe revised by the Coens in the film “The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs”.

The Italian patrol also stands out: at the Lido, among others, Alessandro Borghi and Jasmine Trinca, Valeria Golino and Riccardo Scamarcio, together with Valeria Bruni Tedeschi, Micaela Ramazzotti, Renato Carpentieri, Laura Morante and Alessandro Gassmann.
 
Two other important names that could appear at the Lido are those of Joaquin Phoenix and Jake Gyllenhaal, protagonists in “The Sisters Brothers” by Jacques Audiard. The sixty-year-old Mel Gibson, along with Vince Vaughn for the crime story “Dragged Across Concrete”, return. Numerous platoon of stars from beyond the Alps ready to disembark in Venice, with Guillaume Canet and Juliette Binoche, Berenice Bejo and Laurent Lafitte.
VENICE 75
The international jury, chaired by Guillermo del Toro and in which will be present also the director Paolo Genovese, will choose the winner of the Golden Lion among one of these films. Among the prizes already announced the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement for the British actress Vanessa Redgrave and the one to the director David Cronenberg.
